Lynn Truss is the author of a wonderful book called Eats, Shoots & Leaves. One of the things that she highlights in the book is the "10 items or less" queue in supermarkets. It seems that with the help of The Plain English Campaign, Tesco (a British supermarket) have changed the wording of their ‘express’ queues to say "Up to 10 items".
