A few weeks ago, Esther went on an outing with nursery. They made clay, and brought home little pots for mummies and daddies.

Last week, Esther was very excited because, as she told me, they made clay again.

Esther: Mummy, we made clay with Shoshi today, but it wasn’t brown clay like last time, it was white clay. And we ate it.

Mummy: You ate clay?

E: Yes, we dipped crackers in it, and it was yummy.

M: What did you do to make this white clay?

E: We shook it and we shook it and it went to clay

M: Erm… are you sure it was clay?

E: Yes!

M: Really?

E: Yes, Shoshi told us we were making “Chem’ar”, and we made chem’ar at Ein Ya’el, and you said that was clay

M: (Laughs) No, you made butter (Hebrew: Chem’ah)
