I love our new house.  I really do.  It’s brilliant.  It has an upstairs and a downstairs.  It has a separate living room, dining room and kitchen.  It has 3 bedrooms, central heating and an air conditioner.

However, for some reason, it manages to defy the laws of physics.  Now that it’s getting colder, we would have expected that the downstairs would be cooler than the upstairs.  And yet, the upstairs rooms are significantly cooler than downstairs.  I really don’t get it.

It might have something to do with the fact that our house is alive and possibly a human and so it loses most of its heat out of its head (the roof).

Come summer time, it will be too hot upstairs and nice and cool downstairs (just the way it should be).
