We have just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We have been wanting to go on holiday to have a bit of a rest for a long time (more so given that everyone else seems to be going on holiday just now). We were looking at some of the deals on offer and in the end it just wasn’t going to work out. Instead we decided to have a day out where we tried to cram a whole holiday into one day.
We decided that we would have a day at the beach.
This is not quite what it seems because we had to take the three kids with us. We started off our day by going on a short train ride. The kids were not as excited about this as we thought they would be, but nevermind. We then went up a big tower to the observation level. We got to look all over the place and since it was a bright sunny day we could see for miles. The kids were not so bothered by this, but they were quite excited when we pointed out the small cars all the way down on the ground.
We then had some lunch and headed for the beach.
By this time, Shira and Tehilla were getting tired and so we started walking along the promenade. I don’t remember how long Shira slept for, but we walked a long long way along the promenade. We also drank about 3 litres each as we walked along because of the heat (and it still wasn’t enough!)
When Shira woke up, we decided it was time to have a bit of a break so we went into one of the beachfront hotels to have a nice cool drink and try to cool down. We then went to the old port just further down the coastline before heading back to get some supper and head home.
All in all, it was a lovely day. Very tiring and really not enough of a holiday, but it was a change from our normal life, which was half of the battle.
