Sleep makes you feel so much better
Our daughters are lovely. We love them. They are the love of our lives. But why, oh why, can’t they just stay in bed just a little bit longer in the mornings. We have tried lots of things to keep them in bed longer in the morning, but nothing seems to work.
We tried having a timeclock in there so that when the light came on, it was time to get up. But instead of waiting for the light to come on, Esther, after going to the toilet about an hour before the light was due to come on, would ask if the light had been set up. Once she was suitably assured that the light had been set up, 10 minutes later she would come out and ask how long until the light was coming on. 10 minutes later, she would need a bobble putting in her hair. Through all this, Shira would have woken up and she is such a yo-yo at night and just won’t stay in bed unless she is asleep, so she now gets up and is in and out of our bedroom. All in all, they generally wake up about an hour before the light goes on and don’t stay quiet (or in their own bedroom).
We finally took the light away and not much has changed, but it’s one less thing for Esther to be concerned about overnight.
This morning, the girls stayed asleep, and in their beds, until nearly 8a.m. It was so nice being able to stay asleep until it was time to get up.
