Passing the time
Ruth is on the phone to her mum and dad just now, so I’m passing the time while she is talking. I don’t really have anything to say, so I’m just going to have to waffle for as long as she is taling. I can’t really see what I’m typing either because the monitor is a bit too far away to see properly. Anyway, tippy tappy on the keys and we’ll see where we end up.
Ruth is just telling her dad about how adventuours Shira is. To-day she want to the park with all 3 kids. There is a spiral thingy that is about 6 feet high. Shira decided that this would be a wonderful thing to climb up. So up she went, showing no fear. She got all the way to the top and then wanted to carry on going up and up and up. Ruth decided that she shouldn’t try to get any higher so she kept lifting her back down again.
Tehilla is also very funny. She likes to smile lots. Assuming that she is not tired or hungry, she is the most lovely baby in the world. She will just look at you and grin. The biggest grin you could ever imagine. It’s very cute.
Esther is not in kindergarden this week. It’s going to be a very long week. All three children at home and a limited number of things for them to do in or out of the house. Ruth managed very well looking after them to-day. They were all very well behaved. that’s not to say we didn’t have to tell them off at all, but given how much they are capable of playing up, they were very very good.
We bought a new digital camera. We are very excited. It’s a Canon A710 IS. It has image stabilisation (that’s what the IS stands for). Hopefully it will mean that our photos come out less blurry when the flash isn’t on. If you look at our Photo site, you will notice that all of the pictures that do not have the flash are slightly blurry. As a point to note, below each picture there is a little check box that you can press if you want to buy the photos. Feel free to buy them. Assuming you are a member of our family, you are more than welcome to them. If you’re some weirdo who likes to have random photos of complete strangers, then please don’t. Maybe I should think about putting some sort of protection on them. Hmm, that’s an idea.
Speaking of which, I use WPA for securing the network traffic between my laptop and my router. The only problem is that several times a day, the wireless card gives up and I have to turn it off and then back on again. It’s really annoying. Especially when it occurs while I am trying to upload/download something to my work FTP site. It can be very annoying when it does that. Ruth can testify to how frustrated I get with it when I’m trying to upload a file and it keeps dropping out just at the end. The worst is when it’s a 7 MB file and it gets to about 99% and then gives up. Sometimes the FTP software that I use is clever enough to remember where it was up to, but more often than not, it forgets and has to start again from the very beginning.
Anyway, Ruth is still on the phone and my hands are getting tired from this typing. It’s gone bedtime now and I think we should go to bed. We have to get the washing out of the machine (it’s working again now after it broke a couple of months ago, but was fixed quickly enough and Dixons refunded the money for the repair (we bought the 5 year extended warranty and we have used every penny’s worth of the money)).
Night night.
