How many strollers do you have?
We are the stroller family. We bought one nice big one when Esther was born. It broke and we took it back to the shop and it was fixed. Actually, they said it was fixed, but when we went to pick it up, the wheels were brand new so we think they just replaced it.
Then it broke again (different bit of it) and we took it in to get fixed. After a long while, they finally said “oops, we lost it” and gave us our money back. So we were without a big stroller.
Then, we decided to get a small stroller anyway because Esther was big enough not to need such a big stroller (buggy). After two days, we noticed that there was a problem with one of the wheels. We took it back and after much arguing, they gave us a new one. That one is fine (apart from generally not being a very good stroller).
Then Shira was born and we decided to get a new big stroller (buggy). We had spoken to a bunch of friends about what they recommended and so we bought a nice new big stroller. That one is also fine.
Then because it was not always possible for two adults to take out the two children, we decided to get a double buggy. We got it second hand (looking back on it, we think we got ripped off). It’s a tandem and it’s really heavy and very difficult to turn especially with a heavy toddler in the front seat. So we’ve been trying to sell it. We have reduced our asking price to half of what we paid for it, but still no takers (that’s why I think we got ripped off).
So anyway, we had a small single stroller, a big single buggy, and a huge double buggy.
We now have a third child who goes wherever.
We are going on holiday next week and our flight is in the middle of the night. Not ideal for getting children to walk around when they really want to be sleeping. We didn’t want to bring the two single strollers (too much hassle to move everything around at the airport). We didn’t want to bring the huge double (it’s huge). So we bought a new double stroller. It’s not as huge as the current one and not as heavy and we hope it will be more maneuverable (spelling?).
So the answer to the question, for us at least, is 4!
