Learning to write
To-day I was learning to write with mummy. I know that might seem quite silly because as you can all see I’m very good at typing, but to-day I was learning to write with old fashioned pen and paper. The letters aren’t very easy though, they twist and turn and are generally quite a nuisance. I did very well though. Mummy thought it would be best if I start off with my own name. “Esther” I shouted to her. “That’s right”, said mummy. Anyway, mummy started by writing my name in something called “capital letters”. They were very big. At first mummy held my hand while we went over the top of the letters using my felt tips. She was very helpful, the pen just wanted to wiggle all over the place, but mummy helped me to keep it under control. She then wrote my name lots more times and I carried on going over it with my felt tips all by myself. I used lots of different colours and everything. I think that I wrote my name about 20 times to-day. I got a bit tired towards the end so I went and played on Shira’s happy birthday car. Mummy said we can write some more tomorrow.
