Off I set in search of further glory.  I saw my goal across a vast expanse of white.  I knew what must be done.  After a short journey (not even a day), I reached base camp.  I slowly pulled myself up and started to climb.  First my hands and then slowly, oh so slowly, I lifted my right leg.  I got my leg up with relative ease and then used is as a means to propel myself upwards.  My left leg quickly followed and with a bit of work I got into a sitting position.  However, I wasn’t prepared for the fact that my bottom wasn’t quite on the flat plain.  I fell over and banged my head.

I thought it would be a good time for lunch so I had some lunch and then a big mid-afternoon nap before setting off again.

This time my approach would be slightly different.  I had seen earlier that there was a step mid-way up the mountain.  I knew that this was what I needed to use.  As before I got my first leg up onto the plain.  After resting for a moment and singing a little song, I raised my right leg onto the step that I had seen before.  I put my leg on it and while I pushed, I swung my other leg further over.  With a little manoeuvring, I managed to get sat down on the summit, a leg dangling on either side.

I had made it, I was sitting atop daddy’s trumpet case!
