Way back when…
Many years ago, when the Earth was young and I was even younger, a very clever man named Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (well sort of). (And no, he wasn’t American).
Anyway, with this invention all sorts of technology firms grew and died and grew and died. In the connected age, it became all the rage to have a new and shiny e-mail address. Lots of companies jumped on this bandwagon until you could have as many e-mail addresses as there were stars in the sky. (You can see if you can find them all in the book How many stars in the sky?).
One such company that provided me with one of my first e-mail addresses was called Supanet. They weren’t really very super, and I soon ditched the e-mail address. As things go around, all companies will eventually go bust (it happened to Barings, so why not a small internet company). To-day I read an article on The Register about how the administrators have been called in. All a bit sad really.
