Last night I thought it was about time to wash the car. It hadn’t been done for a while and it was really starting to get dirty. It wasn’t that you couldn’t see out of the windows, more that you wouldn’t really want to. Off I went, bucket and sponge in hand and set to it. Wash wash wash, splish splash splosh. Water everywhere (all over my trousers, all over the neighbours car as well). Dirt coming off the car in bucketloads (quite literally). Eventually the car was clean and dry. I then thought that it would be a good idea to wax the car as well. On went the wax, off came the wax, wax on, wax off. Not quite like The Karate Kid, but you get the picture.

Eventually the car was clean and positively gleaming.

This morning after my wife saw the car she said “I can tell you did it in the dark, in places it just looks like you moved the dirt around.” While it was true that I had finished the car in the dark, I was sure that I had not made such a glaring oversight. I hurried off to see the car. Lo and behold the car was dirty in places. Closer inspection revealed muddy footprints of one of the local cats. Not even just muddy footprints, but muddly footprints that slipped on the surface as the cat tried to navigate both the front and back windscreen.

All that hard work and the car is dirty in under 12 hours!!!!!
