We all know the story of the Three Little Pigs. We also all know the story of Little Red Riding Hood. In each story there is a wolf. I asked my wife if the wolf in both stories was one and the same. She poo-poohed the idea on the basis that the wolf died at the end of each story (apart from the version of Little Red Riding Hood that we own which has the wolf escaping through a window). I countered her argument by saying that Homer Simpson’s car is repeatedly written off and yet in every episode of The Simpsons (Daaah, dah dah da daaah, dah dah da da da da da …), his car still appears. She countered by saying that The Simpsons is a cartoon and that’s how that is possible. I said that Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood are just stories so it is possible. She said no, I said yes and accused her of being similar to the Kathy Bates character in Misery which she did not agree with.

Anyway, if anyone has a definitive answer for us, we would be most grateful.
